Teal table project

What you need for this project. Dresser of you choice.
This happened to be in my garage taken up room that every time some one opened the door I would slightly raise my voice, saying, "Watch the door!"
There are great pieces to find at garage sales and thrift stores.

2 paint colors of your liking.
Mine:
 Black base
Teal over coat

This piece is special to me because (and some of you will freak out and say awful things because I painted it) but it was my grandmothers.

I love it. It adds so much character to the room. Well this one wall. The rest of the room needs work.
Just get a thick sized paint brush- that's the key-
Dip in the paint lightly and brush strokes as heavily or light as you'd like.
I went a little heavy leaving some black but not a lot shining through.

Have you done a similar projects?
Would love to see your painted adventures!

  1. Love the dresser. This was a china hutch. I love what you have done to make it your own. Do you still have the top part? This was in Granny Annie's dining room before you entered this wonderful world. Then passed to me and now you. I love that you have repurposed this piece into something different from what it was orignally used for. Makes me want all the stuff I've given you back(of course all redone). I'm becoming an Indian Giver right at this moment!

  3. I know you can fix it! Gorilla glue, duct tape, hot glue, and plenty of spray paint and a nail gun.....good to go!

  7. This is great looking. I have to paint a piece in my daughters' room and I was going to do it to match the Shabby Chic other pieces in the room, but now I am thinking of adding a punch of color like this. Looks great!

  8. What a great restyle! I love the color combination looking forward to seeing more from you. I'm your newest follower stop by for a blog visit. Restyling furniture is so satisfying especially when you can recreate a piece from a loved one like your grandmother. I'm sure she's pleased :)

  9. Turned out great. I paint things as well that I know many others would think I am crazy. But you do what you like and what goes with your home. Great job!

  10. It looks beautiful!! Better to have it painted and love it rather than not paint it and not use it. I love how you left the black showing through. Thanks so much for linking up to The Creative Spark - I hope to see you back next week!

  13. This turned out beautifully! And my feeling about painting furniture is that if it gives the piece a whole new life, then that's a good thing! Thanks for linking up! Hope you'll be a party regular!
